Lars Vousten (Technical Consultant) answered seven questions highlighting his work at AmeXio Group in The Netherlands.

What is your current role and what are your activities?
I started at AmeXio in 2013 as a Technical Support Consultant in our Shared Service Center and currently I’m Service Delivery Manager for some of our customers. As a Service Delivery Manager I’m organizing the service provision to the customer. This means I’m responsible for the complete 'Run' phase and therefore an important point of contact for the customer. In this role I ensure that our service meets predetermined service levels and quality standards, but also that it is aligned with the needs, objectives and challenges of the customer. I still also do a lot of hands-on work, so with my background of Technical Support Consultant, I also still handle a lot of tickets for our customers.
How did you come across AmeXio as an employer?
I went to school on the Fontys in Eindhoven were I studied ICT & Business. As part of the ECM course, we also had a company visit and in our case this was AmeXio (former Euroscript). After completing my study I noticed a vacancy at AmeXio and because of the nice company visit during my study I was directly interested. Throughout the recruitment process, my interest only grew stronger.
How would you describe your work at AmeXio in three words?
Fun, challenging and cooperation!
What has suprised you the most within AmeXio and why?
What surprised me the most, or rather, what really stood out to me, was the informal atmosphere within the company and how genuinely helpful everyone is. As a result, there’s no strict hierarchy, and everyone is treated with respect.

What tasks or activities do you get the most satisfaction from your work and why?
What I enjoy most is working together with our team to stabilize our clients’ production environments, solving incidents and issues along the way. It’s incredibly rewarding to see how this leads to happy and satisfied clients. I also get a lot of energy from helping clients overcome their challenges and driving real improvements. Knowing that our work makes a direct, positive impact on their daily operations is what truly motivates me.
What is the best tip you’ve ever gotten from a colleague?
I wouldn’t say there’s one single tip that stands out, but what really makes a difference is the involvement and helpfulness of everyone in the company. Whenever I get stuck, there’s always someone willing to give me a push in the right direction (you of course need to be proactive and ask for help 😉) and often, that’s all it takes to solve a problem. For example, someone might ask, 'Have you checked the logfile of that particular webservice to find the root cause?' Or suggest something like, 'Have you tried using the concatenate function in Excel? It can make creating scripts a lot easier.'
Another thing that really helped was the support during the onboarding process I received. I was able to get up to speed with our clients fairly quickly and contribute to the team from early on.
What anecdote or experience within AmeXio has stuck with you to date and why?
We’ve had many great experiences both during and outside of work, so it’s hard to pick just one. Outside of work, the outings organized by the staff association are always a lot of fun like going to the movies, visit to the casino, paintball, laser game in the parking garage, pub quiz in the office, clay pigeon shooting, poker night with colleagues and of course, the annual Delt Day with the whole company. One of the most memorable Delt Days was when we spent the day at a beach club in Scheveningen. The weather was perfect, the people were great and we had an amazing BBQ workshop with delicious food and drinks.
