Fabian has now been part of AmeXio for four years. After graduating in 2020, he found his way into consultancy, drawn by the great company culture and the variety of projects. Curious about how he experienced his first years as a consultant and what role he now fulfills? Read on and discover his story!
Hey Fabian, can you tell us something about your career choice after graduating in 2020?
When I had just graduated, I didn’t know exactly which direction I wanted to take. With my background in software development, it made sense to do something in that sector, but I didn’t have a concrete idea yet. During a job fair, I discovered the world of consultancy. What stood out to me was that there are two types of companies: companies where you work on-site at the client’s location, and companies where you work on projects from the parent company. I felt much more attracted to the latter. I really wanted to be part of a team, build something together, and not just sit behind my computer coding all day. The idea of combining technical work with business aspects appealed to me a lot, but above all, interaction with people was my top priority.
How did you eventually end up at AmeXio?
At AmeXio, I found exactly what I was looking for. The feeling I got during the job fair was completely confirmed once I started working there. What I really appreciate about AmeXio is that you get the opportunity to try out different things. This gave me a lot of freedom to discover my own path.
"The combination of the technical, business, and human aspects is exactly what I was looking for in my role as a team coach."
Can you tell us something about your first major project at AmeXio?
My first big project was at Vynova. Initially, I was working on it alone from AmeXio, developing applications that are used internally by their employees. I found the whole process—from coming up with solutions to working out the technical details and eventually incorporating feedback—super interesting. I’m still working on this project, now alongside two colleagues from AmeXio. I mainly focus on designing solutions and the overall design, while my colleagues handle most of the technical execution. I also review schedules and provide support in expanding existing applications. Over the past few years, I’ve taken on different roles within this project.
How have you grown within AmeXio over the past few years?
In the past four years, I’ve developed significantly. I’ve become much more assertive and improved my time management skills. Technically, I’ve learned the entire Microsoft ecosystem for building applications. When I started, the Power Platform was still small, but it has since expanded greatly. This has also taught me to think about where we want to go as a company and what role I can play in that.
What motivated you to become a team coach?
I saw opportunities to improve the work environment for everyone, and that motivated me to pursue the role of team coach. I enjoy being involved in solving problems and want to work with the team to find solutions. Offering a listening ear is also very important to me.
What are your daily responsibilities as a team coach?
As a team coach, I set goals for our Microsoft team and ensure that everyone remains satisfied and motivated. I strive to keep the team together and coach them. I also spend a lot of time communicating and collaborating with others within AmeXio.
In addition to my role as a team coach, I am still working on the project at Vynova. The combination of these two roles is exactly what I was looking for; the technical, business, and human aspects all come together here.
